The main export products are bananas, coffee, cocoa, mango, coconut, sugar, lemons and oranges, while vegetables are particularly important for the domestic market.

In the lower areas where the climate is warmer, sugar cane, yucca, banana and different fruit trees are produced. Already in the highest areas such as Cundinamarca, Boyacá and Nariño you can find potatoes, different vegetables, flowers and grasses.

Paisa Tray: A traditional meal from the Paisa region of Colombia, this hearty meal usually contains white rice, red beans, ground or minced meat, plantain, chorizo, corn, pork rinds, fried egg, arepa, and an avocado.



Suckling pig: is a mixture of chickpeas, pork, spices and occasionally rice that is often served with an arepa is native to the Tolima region, which is southwest of Bogotá

Arepas: The most common traditional dish in Colombia, each region of Colombia has its own traditional way of eating and making arepas.





Cassava bread:
Cassava bread is a typical bread from the southern regions of Colombia. The bread is made with cassava flour, butter, eggs and cheese.

Empanadas
: Empanadas can be found throughout Latin America, but Colombian empanadas are fried and contain a variety of ingredients including rice, meat, eggs, potatoes, or vegetables.






Personal comment: Something that caught my attention is that Colombia is a country in which a lot of coffee is produced and that this product is the one that is exported the most and thus grows in its economy. And that some Colombian dishes vary their preparation according to the region.
